Hi all
I have a 200 mm Porsche 356 flywheel , lightened ro 5kgs at be installed in a B coupe
I know that we can use VW mechanism and pressure plate
Kennedy stage 1 is my purchase intention
I think that I have to machine the flywheel do 24 mm depth instead of 25mm as originally
Can you confirm this and if there is any other measurements to take into account
Thanks in advance

The flywheel depth:

VW 180 = 24,0 mm
356 180 = 24,0 - 24,2 mm

VW 200 = 20,9 mm
356 200 = 25,0 - 25, 2 mm

Have a look and compare with a stock 200 mm VW flywheel.

Maybe, there are aftermarket flywheels for 356, to operate with 200 mm VW clutch, needing 20,9 mm depth.

Here are two flywheels. I don't know if either will work for you.

I would do not, because the distance between throw out bearing and pressure plate would increase for 4 mm. That can cause problems along the fork and clutch cable. I´m also not sure, if there is enough "meet", for ex beside the 6 screws.

But there are 2 throw out bearings for 356 B, C:

B, 60-63, high, 741 116 081 00
C, 64-65, low, 901 116 081 01

maybe you can "play", but not knowing, if a "mix" would go along your individual ideas.

Suggest, if you really "need" that Kennedy clutch, sale your nice flywheel. (But I have no experience with that kind of aftermarket flywheels)
