I picked up an Eastwood MIG 140.
I am happy with it. Looks and "feels" like a quality tool. I thought it was a good price too. Comes with hose and regulator.
I have only used it with flux core, so far.
I have used different brands of flux core wire. HF wire was the worst!
I found Lincoln wire to work well.
One feature I like is the "tack" mode. _________________ 73 bus. Org. 1700 with dual Weber 40 idfs, bus header with Empi qp muffler, CB magnaspark 2 " ready to run kit". |

After using my new cheep Tig welder DC only, I will say get a Co2 tank and use gas, much better at being able to see the weld, and way less smoke and spatter. I wish I had gone with gas instead of using flux core for the last 15 years but my welding was mostly outside. you can also use gas with flux core. |

I have heard of using gas with flux core.
I'd guess you would set the polarity of the welder to "gas" not flux? _________________ 73 bus. Org. 1700 with dual Weber 40 idfs, bus header with Empi qp muffler, CB magnaspark 2 " ready to run kit". |

Surprised no one has mentioned Primeweld. They have a line of welders, very nice machines and also budget friendly. Highly reviewed. There is also Arccaptain. I own an older miller, 3 primeweld machines and 1 arcaptain. I just got an email the other day from arccaptian about a sale on there smallest mig welder.
Harbor freight welders are not as good as those and are more expensive.
Miller, Lincoln, Esab... good welders but you're paying a really high premium mostly for the name. 3 to 5 times as expensive as primeweld but not better in any way. They all use the same or similar Chinese inverters and parts
(Edit just realized the OP probably already got his machine 5 years ago... lol) _________________ 1967 Bug ( the daily rod )
