I’m sure there is an easy fix, but I can’t seem to keep the sun visor from coming down on it’s own while driving. Thought of spraying hair spay or something tacky on the arm. Anyone have any ideas?

I experience the same problem and would love to hear how to tighten it up.

The visors slide onto the shaft of the mirror arm and are then secured with a punch. I've seen two kinds: a small circular punch (like a spot weld) or a small straight line.

Take the mirror assembly off the car and take it to your workbench, kitchen table, whatever. Grab your hammer and either a center punch or chisel depending on how the factory secured the visor. Give a few good whacks at the appropriate spot until the visor is firm on the shaft. Throw it back on the car and enjoy

Maybe slide the visor off the shaft, then slightly pinch the whole rounded portion in a vice to make it slightly oval. It needs tension to pinch onto the shaft. I am saying very slightly and not to mash it or kink it.

Then slip it back on and peen the dimple to hold it there.

Appreciate it. I probably mashed it too hard last time I tried to get it to stay put. I made slide them off and glue them in place. With the visor down I can't see the top half of the windshield... I can't imagine ever lowering them.

I had the same issue with new WW visors with old OG mirror. I tried the punch thing. Was tight at first then after a few uses started all over again. Solution that I came up with:

Drilled out rivets and spread the metal slightly. Put a piece of heat sink tubing 1” or so and slightly heat it up. Reinstall assembly and carefully clamp it back together (I used pads in my bench vice and a wrench) then rivet in new rivets. Has worked great for 10+ months now. Still tight.
