Okay, it has been almost two weeks since I've done anything to the Van... this ain't looking good again. But, I am hopeful that we will be able to pull off a road trip this summer.

Anyway, yesterday afternoon around 3:00 PM with the local ambient temp just above 79f, I started the Van and let it idle with the AC on for about 20 minutes. It was sitting in partial shade (no Box Fan running out front)

The Compressor cycled-off at just above 35f. When it cycled back On, I turned the temp down a little farther. In less than three minutes the temp had dropped to 33f. So, I may have the AC system in good working order. Even if the ambient is in the high 80s to low 90s, I believe out on the road at highway speeds it should function just fine.

Below is a pic of the temp gauge. And, FWIIW, I did check this temp gauge for accuracy (in ice water for about 5 minutes equaled 32.3/4f)
