Hi All,
I'm looking to get my March 56 low light of ten years finally restored. The look will be old speed. Okrasa engine & 356 brake drums all round slightly lowered.
The theme will be a patina look. The car is complete apart from a couple of small bits.
Any one have any information on this type of set up or pictures
Thanks Dave

Wow! SNAP! Just starting on a later 56 (chassis starts with 131) and I'm going along the same route as you. Apart from the patina, I'm a shiny paint kinda guy
Hopefully we can bounce ideas off each other.... |

Hi John, thanks the the information, lots of stuff through the write up.
Gels, good to here. Are you going with the 356 drums, wheels etc.
My recent resto was a 52 crotch cooler that's been restored in original condition. I have mixed bag of a couple of other cars. Speedwell supercharger car with front air, early squareback with similar stance being worked through. Hence as the ghia has been sitting around for 10 years & although was media blasted & etch primed like the look of the patina. The floor pan, underside of body will be all painted likewise interior, bonnet & engine area with external patina in antelope & black roof. Well that's the plan |

Yeah, I'm thinking a very similar route to you... I have a set of finned B brakes. I'm currently collecting(or trying to)the engine parts, I have a Porsche crank, Okrasa heads, carbs and linkages. Still need a good cam option, no rockers as yet either, and thinking 80mm B+Ps.... I can't decide on 6 or 12V either Our car was a Pelican/Black car, but I'm not a fan of red cars personally, so I keep swaying from OG and Trout. Still on the search for the early indicator switch housing and an OG interior door/side panel for a template among other things. The car came with a later wiper motor assembly too, so I need to figure out how that will work. It will be great to bounce things off each other, and hopefully it will help in the restos. |

Hi Glen,
The engine I'm using is the one in my pictures. It's a okrasa engine but with standard size pistons. I'm going 12V. I have the original interior panels & front seat, although in poor condition. The car is mainly complete apart from a few small bits. The main hard to find items are all there. I do have an original engine, but will rebuild this later. |

You're ahead of me then I still have to find a good donor case! It's a good looking engine. I like that the fuel filter is before the pump . I have the same exhaust waiting for the build It's intersting that Okrasa didn't find the need to go bigger in the pistons back-in-the-day. |
