I don’t find them particularly loud but my bus has no interior and my daily has very noisy Wrangler Duratrac mud terrains. I’d say they’re way quieter than my M/T’s. _________________ 1964 Kombi- http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=640048

I have stock 14" rims on my 66 camper and 215 tires on the front and 225 on the rear. No interference at either end.

I think you'll find those tires to be mushy like marshmallows and your bus would be all over the road in cross winds and getting passed by larger trucks. Spend a few more bucks and go with the Hankook Vantra LT (Light Truck) RA18's with stiffer sidewalls you'll be happy you did.

Will they fit? Yes. Is the load index OK? Yes. Are they good tires? Maybe... _________________ nothing |

Unfortunately looking for new tires to replace my worn Hankook RA08 195R14C tires I’ve been running for many miles now. Boy tire prices have increased since I last bought tires. I was very pleased with the RA08s and I am considering replacing them with the new 195R14 RA18, especially with the D1 load rating.
I just want to make sure these are the same size as the RA08s since they don’t list a middle number (Europe standard way of listing tires?) . It’s causing some confusion at the tire shops.
Is the RA18 195R14 close to the original 7.00x14 tires? Perhaps just slightly wider?
Also considering, although more expensive, a set of General Grabbers A/TX LT 27x8.50R14 C tires. Not sure if I really need them since I spend 95% on the highway here in the East.

When no aspect ratio is listed, it is @ 82. Can do the math from there. An old tire shop guy would know this, but lots of younger guys have likely never seen it come up. _________________ nothing |

I just ordered a set of the Yokohama Y356 LT195/75R14 (D load rating) for my 14 inch stock rims. I was looking at both the Yokos and Hankook Vantras, which seem very similar... several supplier list the Hankooks as also being LT195/75R14. From comments I have read, this size seems to fit, wear and handle well on our busses, and least in non-icy environments. _________________ Erik S

Anyone have pictures of their bus with Yokahama Y356 185R14 tires? Needing to replace my tires and those seem affordable and close to the bias ply stock tire diameter.
Found a few images in the gallery of the tire mounted but none of a bus far enough away to see the stance.

Here's a couple from farther away showing stance and size as you requested.
Basically stock.

I'm planning on buying bias ply tires for my '67.
https://www.cokertire.com/700-14-bf-goodrich-1-whitewall-tire.html
It says the ratings are:
Brand: BF Goodrich
GTIN UPC: 00842199104882
Product Size: 700-14
Rim Diameter: 14
Tread Width: 4.40
Section Width (Actual): 7.20
Overall Diameter: 26.80
Max Load Capacity: 1360@32PSI
Recommended Rim Width: 5.00 - 5.50
Tube Type or Tubeless: Tubeless
There is no specific mention of LT.. or ply rating.
Should a assume these will work?

Has anyone bought this tire?
I'm considering purchasing this BFGoodrich tire (without the whitewall) for my bus, specifically for use as a spare tire. Since it will primarily be for emergency use, daily usage and versatility isn't my main concern.
If any of you have bought this particular tire, I would be very grateful if you could:
-Share a picture or two of the tire mounted on your bus.
-Let me know your general thoughts on the tire. _________________

Barry 185/14 may be stock replacement, but they are definitely much smaller in diameter compared to a 7.00/14. I remember back when i worked for a tire manufacturer just how much smaller they are compared to 7.00/14s. same thing with the 6.40/15 or 5.60/15 on the beetles. huge difference in diameter.
people did like the radials, of course, because they last longer, and they make you think your bus is faster and uses less gas per mile indicated. it just takes longer to get places and distances are suddenly longer.... _________________ regards
