Yes. When I first got my Standard it had 7 X 14s. It was squirrelier and they wore out super fast. But the spare tire well hits the holding lug hole for both sizes in the same place. |

I haven't seen anyone mention these in this thread, but I like the Maxxis UE-168 Bravo. They're radial with the right weight / ply rating and the 205/0R14 gets you the 27" diameter of a bias ply 700-14 with a little more meat, but nothing crazy.

That 205R14 C is an interesting size. I bet it would fit well on a bus meant for on road use. Or use as a steer tire combined with something a bit more rugged out back. _________________ nothing |

I run 205R14C's on my UK bus, to max out the gearing with tyre size, although these only really bring it back up to the 27" diameter that the OG crossplies were... some of the modern radials are comically small, so the final gearing is all over the place.
I use Mazzini EffiVan - as they are a 'van' tyre they seem OK, and they're pretty cheap!

Not sure if these are available in the States? |

Here's a couple from farther away showing stance and size as you requested.
Basically stock.

Barry 185/14 may be stock replacement, but they are definitely much smaller in diameter compared to a 7.00/14. I remember back when i worked for a tire manufacturer just how much smaller they are compared to 7.00/14s. same thing with the 6.40/15 or 5.60/15 on the beetles. huge difference in diameter.
people did like the radials, of course, because they last longer, and they make you think your bus is faster and uses less gas per mile indicated. it just takes longer to get places and distances are suddenly longer.... |
I did the math:
184/ 14" go around one rotation 790 times in a mile.
7.00X14" go around one rotation 747 times in a mile. |

And that math is variable. Different manufacturers build tires differently, and actual size/width/diameter will vary. _________________ nothing |

I was going by the 185/R/14 s in this chart vs the 27" ones commented on.
Now that you guys pointed out the size when I look at my bus I feel the 25.5" diameter tires have diameter envy. |
