This is my first post, hope I’m doing it correctly.
I’m trying to figure out what these 2 hoses are for. This is an 84 Vanagon. The first photo are the hoses coming up under the front driver side wheel well, and the second photo is what they look like from the inside underneath and behind the drivers seat. Whatever they are, it appears maybe they were cut. I have so far not been able to find any information. I would appreciate any assistance or ideas. Thank you.

Hi, welcome to the Samba.

How long have you owned the Vanagon? Any info from the previous owner?

It looks to me like that is a POs attempt to move the rear heater up to behind the driver's seat.
Trace the hoses under the bus back towards the engine, I think you will find some connections where the original heater hoses used to go to the stock location under the rear seat.

Maybe provide some more pictures. A shot of the rear seat bulkhead from inside and underneath vehicle.

We love pictures, it helps to identify the model and what's been done to it over time. A lot of things can happen in 42 years!

Hmmm...good guess, that would explain the two different size hoses and the wire.

JJESSUP, any signs of other A/C equipment?

It is definitely a CCC Cool hose route. You can also see the vertical mark left on the beige leatherette, by the hose cover, on the forward edge/corner.
A ceiling picture will confirm this.

Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner. Definitely AC hoses & wiring in the stock position for an 84 van.

Our work here is done.

Cool
