I've seen various took kit rolls for sale on the Samba over the years, some made of green canvas, some made of different interior material types and colors. What would be the correct material for the tool roll for my 1950 standard, L21 pearl gray car? |

i have a 51 so i have the same interest . i dont see a consistency as to what fabric was what year ...........you can see the tool list in your owners manual here in the samba .......... its the number of pockets and the size of the roll that makes em a certain year ........i been chasing these original tool kits for a long time now .
so i go n look over the 1950 BUG owners manual and i didnt see the tool list but its all in german i might have missed it ..... for my 51 its listed in german and was translated here in this thread .....i imagine a 50 to be about the same as a 51 ...........back then the bugs came with a earlier jack that had its own canvas bag , i am lucky to have one of those bags but not the proper early jack .....
in the early VW progressive refinement books found here in the samba it has some date info as to when it went from one tool to the next generation . |
