years as it was just a hobby of mine and its struck me last night that I have only ever seen one come back up for sale and that was decades go. Nothing here, nothing on EBAY. I found that to be rather curious. |

I feel like the good ones might get second lives if they’re taken care of. Most of the sand rail buggies get broken and then the good parts get consumed by other project vehicles. I also think that since these aren’t primary vehicles they get forgotten and deteriorate. Most tinkerers don’t want to play around with fiberglass repair.
When you do see them for sale, they’re either pristine or really beat up with no engine, transmission etc. _________________ Volkswagen!

I built a pre-runner baja and finished it sometime around 1989. I showed it at a Bug-Out and then sold it almost immediately as life was getting in the way. It was pretty distinctive - flip front end, 3 inch body lift, white with a blue scallop and a blue full roll cage. About 3 years ago an old friend sent me a screen grab from FB MP where a dude was selling a green Beetle. My old custom baja was sitting in the background in his yard beside a shed.
It is odd how things sometimes turn up. _________________ - 1973 Thing, 1970 Ghia, some LandCruisers and an old Ambulance |

I know a guy with a sweet rail built for running the Rubicon back in the 90's. Along came kids. Its now currently buried to the pan and covered with berry bushes. The stories he and that rail must have. |

Does he constantly say, "Gonna git it back on da road!" Like the 80 year olds with muscle cars, split windows and safaris hoarded in their side yards? _________________ - 1973 Thing, 1970 Ghia, some LandCruisers and an old Ambulance |
