I recently rebuilt my carb using a rebuild kit but the volume screw and o ring don't fit so I've reused the old one's. I get hardly and change in the tickover when adjusting the volume and bypass screws. I think the o ring might be leaking. I remember buying a rebuild kit a few years ago for the same carb and the volume screw in that kit were the wrong ones as well. Can anyone tell me the correct size of the o ring for this carb? It's got Bras under the type on the side of the carb so I assume it's not the original carb and I assume Bras is made in Brasil. My Campervan is a 1972 1600cc model.

it appears your carb still needs some cleaning.....
non-responsive screws could be indicative of manifold vacuum leaks and/or clogged passages inside the carb.
how do you have the throttle stop adjusted?
where are your vacuum hoses going and is what they are going to holding vacuum? _________________ 88 Van WBX, A/T - 13 JSW TDI 6M/T - 2012 Touareg TDI Sport |
