Someone was in there before me, and I have two that are broken and missing. These are the tabs that hold the screws to the front body. Has anyone fabricated them?
Thank you! _________________ 84 Westy w/ 2.1 MV |

Picture or two would help- this way even if someone hasn't done the job before, they might have a great idea on how to go about a repair for you once they've looked the situation over. _________________ '68 Westy- my first VW and vehicle/Bus- long gone.- sold it to a traveling Swiss couple....

If you mean these:
I could see using or fashioning a key-shaped washer or similar:
Cut a small slot in the side of the heater box (right where the broken plastic tab is), insert the tab of the new washer & mount the heater box back in place with the original bolt…prob’ly better than new!

I suppose I can try to build something up with ABS sheet and ABS glue or a metal L bracket. I was hoping to find other examples, but in searching, I couldn't find anything. _________________ 84 Westy w/ 2.1 MV |

Bend some aluminum or steel sheet into an angle shape and the screw it to the plastic box. _________________ Sorry About That Chief.

This would be very easy to model and 3D print some generic L brackets to adhesive to the existing box.
If it was me I would just call Bus Lab up and ask them how much for a new used heater box. _________________ "Jo Ann" - '83.5 Westfalia EJ22e w/Peloquin
