I am also trying to figure out the year my engine was made. I have a 72 standard with an engine # of AE 912 149. If I am reading the chart correctly, its a 72 engine as well????? Can anyone verify that for me? Thanks! |

I hate to seem so stupid but I cannot make heads or tails of this. My engine number does not seem to fit the chart located in the post above. I could use some help with this one. Here is the number from the small plate attached to the flange below the alternator stand. To the left of the number there appears to be a circle with some lines coming out to the left, something like the reverse of a Detriot Red wings symbol. Its been partly removed so I cannot make out what it is but I thought it might help ID the thing. Its followed by the stamped numbers below.
# B 5561 AD 337781
Its in a 79 SB vert #1592036475 but I do not know if its original to the car. I suspect it is not.
Thanks for helping me track down the items in my frankenbug. |
