Me, I got a CB in my Vanagon and my Jeep. Very handy, but these days, not a lot of talk on them. Back in high school days, the airways were filled with talk. That is why they went from 23 to 40 channels
My CB handle is "Bunny One". _________________ Sorry About That Chief.

I use a Sharp EL-5813 scientific calculator. Holds six constant numbers, and you can program a formula in. It was the stealth calculator as it never got banned from use in physics, statics, or structures classes (unlike a bunch of TI models).
I'm on my third one since I got one before going to college. _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?

I had great times on the CB radio. I got my first 23 channel when the movie Convoy made CB’ super popular. Then in my teens I started all over, again. I met so many people and made so many friends. We would all hang in parking lots. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

This album came out in 1985 during my high school days, I recorded it for my Sony Walkman and car stereo. 40 years later I’m playing it in my 1985 Vanagon, Summer of 2025

That’s a spark plug wrench for a 1932-1937 flathead.

How about a 1920s Tapley decelerometer? Used to measure brake efficency. The company is still in business today I believe.

Ah ... memories ...
My 1st job (summer '84) as a bagger/stocker I had to learn how to load & use a price label gun.
Paper bags only !
I rocked a CB radio in my 1970 Ford Maverick with center-load magnet mount on trunk lid below rear window. Always on channel 37 which was called "the family channel" as that was mostly who was on it. Truckers in the know would tune in passing thru would "chew the dishrag" with no cursing allowed cause people's kids would monitor.
And a buddy had a side hustle repairing CBs & mics in his small RV from the back yard. He had an Eagle(something) desk mic with a round base & had a distinct chime or bell when he released the key.
Good times - 1993 to 1999.
My '71 came with & still has an old Sony cassette deck. It still works but I rarely use it cuz I like the engine sounds better.
The '73 SB I drove in HS had a Shogun cassette player, Realistic preamp with 5 band EQ, & Jensen 6x9s on a half moon board behind the back seat (with 4 more speakers on it). My buddy & I had to shout at each other listening to Van Halen or the GOGOs or Hazy Shade of Winter - whatever was on FM.
I miss Montgomery Wards ... stay safe
jinx
PS :
I WAS the remote (channel changer) - I'm the youngest & had to wait till Sat morn for cartoons, HR Puff-n-Stuff, Fat Albert, Shazam, & Speed Buggy. Lawn Darts & slip-n-slide in the afternoon.
Thirsty ? Water from the garden hose ! !
Sony cassette still works
Last Feb finally hid grey speaker wires/red aux & glued carpet up onto footwell _________________ " It's not valuable unless you learn something from an experience. " Henry Ford

Only 35 years old but old in tech years. When Xatie got her first phone, internet sources claim there was only an estimated 11-12 million cell/mobile subscriptions in the world. In 2024 7.2 billion subscriptions.
