We got to try out the PPG12333 paint for L360 Sea Blue yesterday and the entire body was sprayed with epoxy primer. Next week it should get the paint sprayed.

While I was on a trip to Alaska last week the fenders, hood, decklid, interior, and other small pieces were painted. The first thing I did this morning after getting back was head over to have a look at the color. I am using the PPG code (12333) mentioned above for L360 Sea Blue. I wanted the car the original color, but didn't want to spend too much time messing with mixing to get what my eye saw as perfect. I went with the color as supplied from the PPG formula and this will be close enough for me. I took an original paint glove box door over to see how it compared. I am happy with how it turned out.

The wheels were finished with a powder coat. The blue turned out off from what is original, but these will work for now. At some point down the road I will likely find another nice set of smoothies and get paint mixed to get a more original match. I'll have to see if the color grows on me once it is together.

Paint is complete!! Now to get it back in the shop and sitting on the pan.

I wrangled with the hood seal, decklid seal, and both engine seals all afternoon and got them looking good. A new hood latch and pin is on the way and adjustment of the hood can begin.

I threw the driver side running board on to see how it would fit. It really makes the body look much better. It will have to come off for adjustment of the door.

Many moons have passed since I started this ‘64 restoration, but I have been visiting the forum here more as of late and kicking around the idea of getting another Beetle.

This sea blue car was sold to a nice gentleman in Missouri as I was part way through the process of getting it all together. I believe he discovered the car here on the forum, but I don’t exactly recall. He took the car across the finish line in great fashion and I’m glad she ended up in a good home.

For closure on this build I wanted to post some pictures of how she turned out. These were all taken by him.
