Hi Sambas,
I have a ‘79 Westfalia. Mine didn’t come with the little table that clips on to the dash between the front seats and I’ve only come across a few pictures of this elusive table.
I’m interested in making my own. Does anyone have the measurements for the table, how the single leg works and how it clips to the dash. (I DO have the clips on the dash.)
Dimensions would be good, and a diagram even better. A few detailed photos will also have.
If you can help, I’d appreciate it.
Much thanks! |

I put an ice chest between the seats and had the top covered to match the seats. It works for storage, easy access lunches and drinks when traveling, and a small platform to set things on. It stays out of the way from the shifter. The first model I had years ago even had cup holders if the top was flipped over. When we wanted to use the walk thru we could slide the ice chest out of the way. _________________ "Most people don't know what they're doing, and a lot of them are really good at it." - George Carlin |

The table is rectangular. Front to back
18 1/2 inches long
14 1/2" wide
the brackets are 2" offset from the outer edge.
Corners are round.
The center pole mount, on the underside is at 7 1/2" side to side and at 8 1/2" mark back to front (rear seat to dash) _________________ I'd be UNSTOPPABLE if not for Law Enforcement and PHYSICS.

the table leg you could just mount something generic, but to fit the dash loops for some reason westfalia used some weird shaped clips. Personallly i'd just fit some over-centre latches - more secure and easier to source.

Is coolbugfan still in need of information? I might even have all the table goodies to sell (except the carry bag). But I have all that stuff in my current bus too. I’m on the road with the bus and could provide more DIY info but you need to follow up with your post. I get work/life stuff can stall things but people here are taking time to respond. _________________ Keep on Busin'

There you go Tom. Not any other goodies. Just what you mentioned.

I’ve never seen one either until I got this bus a few years ago from Ronin10. Maybe someone like NLA produced one at one time. Notchboy would know _________________ Keep on Busin'
