No heat exchangers needed . they bolt right onto the exhaust at the heads _________________ Currently:

You've become used to driving your two Super Beetles, especially on long trips. They have many advantages for such driving compared to a Baja Beetle, even compared to a well done one like in this BaT auction. Smoother ride, luggage space, transmission ratio, cruising speed, interior noise level, distance from your head to windshield, etc. The Baja would be best for local, or lower-speed drives.
Also, most of the early "narrow eye" Baja kits had an engine lid, even though it was cut down. But it shielded the top of the engine from the elements. One like this-

You can with Type 181 tins.

I know, they are what I have on mine because I reinstalled the thermostat. Best thing I ever put back on a VW engine. Had to drill and tap the hole for it on a new case that didn't have it.
