What is this clip for on the fan shroud?

Stock 67. Does anyone know what the clip is for that I circled?

Original gazelle seat upholstery for a ‘67

On cars that didn't use a remote regulator, it secures the + cable that runs from the generator-mounted regulator, or alternator, back behind the shroud and down to the solenoid. Might be used to secure other wiring on different year cars too...
