After spending all summer buying everything that CIP1 has to offer, I know I'm not the only one lol, and slowly but surely piecing together a 66, at the final hour when my desire to lower the front end just a touch more (vehicle came with weld ins & drop spindles) I tripped on my own shoelaces. No.... I have no idea how this happened or why it happened all I know is one minute I thought I had it set and the next , with one I'm assuming wrong turn of the allen key on the grub screw of the lower beam (I'm learning terms as I go here sorry....I'm a piano player not a mechanic dammit!).....yah not so much) I've tried jacking it from every possible point to expose the threaded hole, chassis and wherever else I can get my hands on.....the threaded hole moves or "twists" to a point then no matter what I do I ca NOT get that bottom threaded hole to completely expose itself to get the allen screw (or whatever it's called) back in. I wouldn't know what to do if i COULD but that's another issue. Has anyone ever run in to this issue! #worldoffrustration Sidenote: The place where I have the jack in the pic was only used to jack it FOR the picture.

Remove your spindles. Put the grub screws in and then reinstall your spindles. The spring packs work against each other a bit when the spindles are put in.

Really appreciate this. "working against each other" was what I felt was happening but didn't know how they were fighting and why they were fighting. So jack it up by the chassis, remove the spindles which should in theory 'release the tension' and expose that lower threaded hole" is what I'm reading u saying here.

Yes. The beam should be assembled to include the upper and lower grub screws. Check for your camber to determine the shim stack to install your spindles. Install the spindles wheels and tires then set your ride height. Best way to do that is on ramps if you have them. Jack the car up loosen the adjusters and slowly lower onto the ramps. When you have the weight on the beam and where you want it sitting while on the ramps tighten your adjusters. Book you’re done.

One really good resource to learn stuff is the JBugs video series on their website. The beam set up is on there I believe.
