Here is how I installed a 2kw Vevor diesel heater in my Beetle. Thanks to OP for giving me the idea to use the washer fluid bottle as the diesel tank. The heat is piped directly to the defrost vents. The heater is bluetooth enabled and allows me to preheat the car from inside the house.

I have a 5kw CHD heater in one of my 67's. It's now on it's third upcoming winter and delivers great heat. Yes, it's overkill but, I like the heat and can tolerate a high temp burn a couple times a month to burn out any built up carbon from low temp running. 20 minutes on high and I'm good to go for another week or more depending on the usage.
My installation is not as clean as what is posted here but, I suites my needs.
The washer bottle fuel tank idea never crossed my mind.
What a great idea, instead I used 1 gallon Predator gas tank I for my installation. I may have to rethink the usage of the washer tank instead, of the one I'm currently using. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I did a very much easier install. This thing fits exactly in the spare tire well, bolted down with 4 x 6mm bolts. I haven't plumbed it into the defrost yet.. not sure if I will need to.
But, I sort of feel bad about the 3" duct hole I had to make. But...life is life and this was a pretty roached car I resurrected, AND daily driver.
I wanted to be able to remove the entire thing in the spring- and that takes about 5 minutes. The install took maybe an hour.
I did relocate the controls to where I can use them under the dash, but with the remote and bluetooth it's not even needed.
