|
|
Okay so I ordered some front bumper mounts, black ones that look like a "T". I want to mount them correctly because I see some differences going on. First question: One side of the "T" is slightly longer, does that go towards the sides of the car as opposed pointing towards the inside (facing the opposing side mount)?
Second question: If you lay the mount on the ground and look at it from the side, the top of the "T" definitely has an angle to it, mounting the bumper would make it either lean backwards or forward (from side view) I presume. I was wondering if anyone can chime in before I install them. Sorry, I know pics would make it easier, will try later. |

The lesser angle is towards center of car, the greater angle is towards outside of car. Note the curvature of the bumper, see how the outer sides need to have a greater angle to account for the curve of the bumper.

| Thank you for your response and pics. My front mounts have less of an "angle" when looking at it from top view but I see what you mean. Now for the other angle I was talking about (looking after it has been mounted on the car, side view) I see that I can possibly follow the curvature of the bumper top to bottom, and being that the bolt holes on the bumper are lower of the bumper's center line, I would assume that I'd want this bumper mount angle going up and away from the car, sorry if that sounds confusing. Bear in mind that these are Empi brand which might be different from others. Also, I noticed that my rear mounts have three leaves of material and my new front ones only have two. And my car had a 3 leaf left and 2 leaf right, go figure lol. |

Fronts are two leafs, rears are the thicker three leafs. left and right side for each front or rear are interchangeable, simple flip them over. But front to rears are NOT interchangeable.
so three leaf in rear, two leaf in front.
mount with all the bolts loose, so you can wiggle them around, get all bolts started, then tighten down last. _________________ Sorry About That Chief.
