I will be lowering my 68 Ghia (balljoint front, swing axle rear) on 2.5" drop spindles and clicking the rear accordingly.
Using stock wheels (4.5") until I decide to get smart and get new ones. I don't want rubbing if possible, and I'd be fine rolling the fenders if I really need, I also don't want to go with super skinny tires because I want to be able to brake good and handle, etc. If anyone has idea that would be appreciated thanks! |

I use the Vredestein sprint classic in 155 SR15 on my 71, which is lowered by beam adjusters about 1.5 inches.
They work pretty well but I can lock them up if I panic brake.
If your spindles push your wheels out too far you might have clearance problems with that size.
Edit - just saw this post has been out there a while. Hope you got it resolved. |

If you lower a swing axle very much you will want motorcycle tires on the rear. They are designed with tread up the sidewall where you will be running. Standard car tires should not be run that way. _________________ Our cars get old, we get old but driving an old VW never gets old! |
