I ordered a car from this company, Brazilian Classic Cars, on April 20, 2018.
Company owner Rafael Augusto Zanetti, Curitiba Brazil.
The car was agreed to be built in 30-60 days. Price $ 24,000. I paid him $ 16,000 in advance. The rest was agreed to be paid when the car is ready to be shipped, in June 2018.
It has been almost two years now and and I have not received anything.
Car, which I ordered and paid, he sold to someone else in the summer of 2018 and kept the money himself.
I have many times asked him to return the money, because I did not get a car, which I ordered from him. However, he hasn't returned the money.
He offers me another car to which he has changed vin number. I don't know who owns it, but it's not his car.
This second car has been built for 18 months and still not ready.
And this second car is worse than what I ordered.
I'm not interested in this car.
But he does not listen to what the customer and the payer want. He only does what he wants.
He has sent me dozens of schedules, when this second car is finished, but they are all just bullshit. Only explanations after explanations why the car is not yet ready. All lies.
A few of his promises:
7/2018: This is just a little delay, and you will get your car soon.
10/2018:The car will be ready in a month.
1/2019: The car will be ready in a month.
5/2019: The car will be ready in a month.
9/2019: The car will be ready in two weeks.
11/2019: The car will be ready in two weeks.
12/2019: "I export 100´s of cars and I won´t fail with 1 single customer my friend!!! The car is being made as a top quality bus, 1000 times better than the one I sold at first. I should charge you at least EUR 10.000 MORE! Be ready for final payment in about 2 weeks when we will finish upholstery and then final polish and adjustments.
If you don´t make the final payment of what we agree I will sure sell your car at better price in Germany."
1/2020: The car will be ready in two weeks.
And so on..
All lies and bullshit.
He always gives different explanations because he does not remember what he had lied before. Really embarrassing.
I can take this second car, but I won't send him any more money. Whatever.

He's threatening, blackmailing and trying to forced me to buy this other car. He has been doing this for almost two years.
He says if I don't buy this second car, he will export it to Germany and sell it there. And said he would return the money after that, but it would take a very, very long time.
When he sold the first car to another, why didn't he return my money then?
Why should I finance his business? I've never ordered another car.
He used my money for his own personal needs.
Hopefully he won't forget to tell to another buyer that he changed vin number.

When you contact him, at first Zanetti seems kind and responds immediately to your messages. ( In his first post, he tells you where you can pay! He just wants your money. )
Everything changes when Zanetti gets your money. He doesn't care about shit what you've agreed and he starts telling lies about everything.
If you criticize what he has done, he will not respond to your messages for weeks.
If you ask me, never send money to him.
I was an idiot and I trusted him and I lost my money and didn't get the car I ordered.
When the order is agreed to be 60 days and now after almost two years I have not received anything, it is a scam.
But if you want to send money to him, I wish you luck.

I just want to share my experience. And tell my opinion about Brazilian Classic Cars and Rafael Augusto Zanetti.
This man is a pathological liar and the worst nightmare.
This is what has happened to me.
I want to get rid of him, one way or another, but it seems impossible.
Hope I learned something from this.

I contacted the Consulate of Finland in Brazil and they advised me to contact to the Brazilian police.

The same bullshit I've been listening to for two years.
In the same way, he sent me pictures of the first car I ordered.
When the car was ready, he sold it to someone else and kept the money.

The other car he was trying to get me to buy, he cut vin number off. He took a vin number from another car and welded it to that car. The car is no longer legal and cannot be registered. I've never ordered this car.

He refuses to return the money.

I told Zanetti at the end of February that I could accept this second car he has offered me.
I asked him who owns the car because it’s not his car.

He has since disappeared.

I want to clarify things here.

This customer ordered a CUSTOM MADE project bus. That takes time and efford from the garage hired and my company to buy material, replace everything and make the final project as customer requirement.

The customer was informed ALL THE TIME of all the stages of his project and the problems we faced with the 1st garage we hired. One day, he emails me: I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Wait a minute! It is a custom project, with all the details you ordered! We can't just stop your project and return all the investment on material and services! It is already fully painted, all the extra items are ordered at the factories with delivery time!
We will finish your project, we will put our company´s money on it and as soon as we sell it we will return the 1st payment you made. We had to put a lot of money on it, MY COMPANY money on it and in fact, we got very pissed about all the treatens that this customer made to the owners company family and myself telling that would hire a guy to kill us. ALSO he is not a good citizen as he all the times asked to pay for his bus with a lower price invoice, what he did. Anyway I will no judge his acts. Well, a custom made project was done, the company invested a lot of it's money and did not save effords to make it perfectly as I do not hire garages to make poor services. We will start selling the bus. As soon as we sell it, we will return his money, EUR 14.500 as we received. No more, no less, just the value he paid and that 1000 times it was told him that we would return it. Too bad that a person like that orders a restoration bus and want it make in 1 month. We think it is not the kind of person that buys a classic car and enjoy the whole process.

Also, if you think, this customer has a bus that OUR company had to put money on it and need to sell it to return his money, without any discount or fee penalty for cancelling the order, that would be for obvious reasons some kind of punishment for his cancelling, but ok we will return his EUR 14.500. BUT if you think he keeps spreading missunformations and posting that we are a scammer company with has one bus to sell that he pays him back??? How stupied one could be acting like that??? Wants his money back and keep posting that we do not delivery cars that our customers order? Honestly....

Unreliable seller - beware of Rafael Zanetti and Brazilian Classic Car
I paid for a VW SP2 car, worth 29500 euros on August 28, 2025, which must be delivered through the company LPL Automotive in Germany Bremerhaven.
Immediately after he received the money, he announced that the car was no longer available on September 8 and then he tried to offer me other more expensive cars.
Immediately I asked for my money back and I only received promises and delays.

I have been trying to recover my money for 4 months and all the answers are lies, that he will return it at the next transaction, that he does not have the money changed, that he will solve it next week, etc.

He boasts that he has been doing business since 2012, over 500 exported cars, if you ask him for a contact from a former client he invokes confidentiality, all his instagram/facebook accounts have pictures without comments, the only reviews you find online are negative!!

If you want to import to Europe, there are a few people who recommend it, such as Jan S. from MBL group Netherlands or Luiza K. from LPL Automotive Germany, but only because they want to sell their import/export and logistics services.

I do not recommend it, it is clearly a fraud scheme - do not pay anything in advance.
