Just adding my newly painted tank from my 9/56 oval. Was able to get L29 from my local glasurit dealer today.

It's very grey. I don't notice any blue.

This thread shows a good original color for a 1955 era square tank, dark blue-gray. Thinks it is close to RAL5008.

I just stumbled across this thread in Everett's Oval Window FAQ, THANK YOU SIR ! .

Now I have the correct color to order in and re paint my tank after I install a filler neck fuel gauge sender .

Got the 1954 tank coloured, it was matched to an original tank colour.
