The wiring in my car is also in pretty good shape, and the only clown that has messed with the wiring is me Rolling Eyes , and the shop that did my autostick to manual conversion. I've had mynGhia since 1982, maybe inwill just do a refresh. I'm liking some of the ideas here with the fuse panel and extra circits.

I need to hire one of ya to redo the wiring on my 70 Very Happy . I'm thinking I will tackle a new harness one of these days.

I thought about doing a new harness. But the wiring in my car is in good shape. It’s just had alot of hands on it…. Some skilled… some not so much.
decided just to clean it up and modernize it a little. Document as I go.

Summit has the best price on the American Autowire kit. I used this kit on my '70 Ghia that I just finished a body off on. I have used American Auto Wire on 3 non-VW builds as well. Good kits.

I have been thinking about this quite a bit, should I just clean up the existing wiring, and adapt a modern fuse panel, or just tear it all out and go all new with one of these wiring harnesses ?

And of course have been looking at that kit from American Autowire for a while now..

But as sexy as it is, for a Ghia, with it's relatively simple electrical requierements, I think it's overkill, and $ 600 is nothing to sneeze at..

I think I'll go with the "VW beetle deluxe harness" from Watson's Streetworks.

16 circuits and a modern fuse 12 fuse panel, and I have some money left over for other stuff....
