if you want to learn about what's happening under your cap you need to do this.
then you can set your rotor fazing to match your advance curve. that's another topic . I think MSD has some cool videos on rotor fazing . Great to watch and understand what I was talking about earlier

I bought one of these from CB a while back just to play with . really not for me as im locked at 26 deg and only pull 4 deg but if you say run 8 deg at idle and a full 34 deg it may help .

now take a look at the quality between the original MSD and the CB unit . no comparison , you get what you pay for , its thin , bendy and flexes but ok for testing , I would unscrew the brass foot and retrofit to my MSD cap or just making my own if needed .
not to poo poo it just showing the difference , ok for street but would not use it under high cylinder pressure operation

YES! I have a similar version of a cut out Bosch cap so I could see that exact thing!

It's how I figured out that there were rotor to post gap differences. As I noted I am also making a little rotor to to measure the out of center difference easily as well....because its not just the shaft .....maybe....being out of center. There are slight differences cap to cap. Ray
