Greetings. I am trying to reconcile the two wiring diagrams above.
Background: I've got a 76 FI Sedan and I purchased an aftermarket wiper motor. The wiring diagram from manufacturer is not consistent (I don't think) with Bentley.
Issue: if you look at the MFG details there is a separate black/grey power wire going to wiper motor from S10 and another wire (black) going into the low speed switch 53a. The mfg clearly has low and high connections in addition to the direct power line.
Bentley shows the power line from s10 going into a two-way connector with one end going to the wiper switch and the other end to the wiper motor. Bentley seems to indicate the power "piggybacks" on the 53a.
As a novice at wiring, I am not sure of the next step. Suggestions?
Thanks in advance _________________ 1976 FI Beetle Sedan |

Looks consistent, electrically, to me. The connections are just drawn differently. Hook it up by the 73-77 drawing. _________________ Daily driver: '69 Baja owned 45 yrs - Plan B: '72 Ghia

Thanks for the response. I am learning how to read these diagrams and am confused about the 53a low speed and power wire.
In the mfg diagram the power wire goes straight into the motor (per the diagram at the bottom) and the black low speed wire - 53a -goes into the motor at a separate location. The power and low speed are unique wires.
Bentley shows the power wire splitting with one side going to the switch and the second going to the motor at 53a.
This I think I understand but now am left with the issue of the power line splicing into 53a. Does this mean I further split the power line and run it into the low-speed circuit AND the power circuit? _________________ 1976 FI Beetle Sedan |

See this page; https://www.speedyjim.net/schem/wiper.htm
Diagram then .
Assume you have low speed, high speed and off/park. Maybe intermittent also?
53 is supplied via the switch, 53a directly. |
