Can somebody HELP ME. I have a VDO Oil pressure sender that refuses to work.
I've ohmed out the wire running from the front dash to the engine.the ground is connected to the chasis and I have gauge power when I turn the ignition switch on.
when the power is applied the gauge goes past the 80 psi mark and stays also when motor is running. |

| Sounds like either the wrong sender or a bad sending unit. Take the wire off that goes to the guage and touch it to ground while looking at the guage(may take two people to do)but dont let the guage peg completely.If it goes up when grounded the guage and wires are good and the sender is bad. If it does not go up look at the wiring first and make sure they aren't reversed,if ok then its the guage. Good luck |

Thanks for your reply tim.I found the problem
after work today and had to run a new wire back to the engine.The oil pressure works great.The wire was shorted to ground behind the fire wall. Thanks again |
