Question - I am replacing the stock light switch assembly (12 volt) in my 1969 bug. I purchased a replacement unit but it is a newer version and the wiring conections are not in the same location. It did not come with a diagram or instructions of any sort. Is there any info or diagrams on the web or hidden in this site that can help me out?
I have no problem finding main power, dimmer, etc, it's just that i am unsure where they connect on the new switch.

Wiring diagrams are here:

The 1970-71 diagram might be the best one to look at. Wiring terminal numbers are "universal" on VW's, and your new switch hopefully has them marked on there. If that diagram doesn't seem to jive with what you have check some of the other ones.
