I don't pretend to know anything about Type 2's I have a Ghia. So if this is a bad question don't get all upset. On the way to my cottage their is a highroof (I think its a Riviera) sitting in a driveway for sale. It is rock solid, no rust anywhere. It's in orig light yellow paint but the owner has painted some type of mural on it. Says it runs good. It has been forsale for a while so I figure it will need some work. How many of these were made (are they common)? are they anygood ? are they desirable vehicles? I think it looks kinda' goofy, but the price is real good! |

OK, I've been looking at some Rivieras on different websites. This bus doesn't have a pop-up style roof. It is a fiberglass highroof. The rear of the high-roof angles out over the back hatch of the van. There is a window on each side of the roof. What type of van is this???? |

i have never actaully been in one or driven one, but to me it looks as if it will be even less fun to drive in the wind than a "regular" bus. i have seen them called safaree bus also. if the price is good, why not? if you dont like it try to sell it on e-bay with a hippo and some mints, gauranteed bids on it with those accessroies.

OK, I will have to check it out. I wonder if I could swap the "lake boat" top for a westy one? |

It would be easier to trade for a westy, or wait for one to come along. Or you might like the hightop, after all its more headroom than a non poptop camper. Theres a hightop a block away from my house with a big Canadian flag on it. Pretty neat! Jeremy |

Where are you from Jeremy? I note the .ca. I'm in Southern Ontario?
I'm going up this weekend and I will nab some pics of this thing, and get a better look at it. I will post the pics and we'll let the judges decide. It has one hell of an ugly mural painted on it. Some cow with balloons or something. I was picking at it back in august, I think it's those water colours you use in kindergarden. should come off with a wet sand polish |

I'm in Edmonton. There's actually a pretty good vw scene here. You're in the Niagara region right, I think you posted that before. Jeremy |

Actually one day soon, I should take my digicam and go for a walk around the neighbourhood snapping pics of all the vws around. Almost a dozen busses of various years, and a vanagon too. Jeremy |
