ok you purists....looking for the spring type piece that goes at the end of the accelerator cable conduit. the piece that goes from the conduit that goes to the fan shroud to the carb. hope you understand what i mean. any help locating one would be greatly appreciated.

ok, per the manual the parts i'm looking are as follows:

accelerator cable spring
spring guide sleeve
spring seat


i believe there are some repros out there but would like to find an original/NOS one if possible.

You probably don't want a used spring unless you know your accelerator cable tube is perfectly clear.

I have a bunch of used springs but none of them worked very well on my 40hp engine. I was happier getting a new spring from the hardware store - they have almost an exact match.

I found a bag of these yesterday.
I noticed there are 2 sizes - 55 mm and 64 mm.

I only have 2 of the longer ones out of a bag of about 12 so I suspect those are harder to find.

Any feedback on what is correct for what year?

I have the little clips that hold the cable at the end of the tube if you need one.

thatas what I was going to ask. I remember noticing a difference in a couple I had but most of my 36's have usually been pieced together.
I wonder if they are the same on the 25's and 40's? anyone know?

I always loose those little clips I need to buy some extras.
