i need to do the clutch on my '82 westy diesel

i was wondering if anyone had removed a trans from a westy while leaving the engine in place. the bently manuel describes the procedure and it seems easy.

i currently have the trans sitting on a jack completely free but can't seem to get it far enough forward to clear the flywheel.

i'm scared to twist the engine too far down because i don't want to break anything but i cna't see how else i'd get it out without removing the nose cone.

any suggestions?

thanks!

You'll have to pry it down a bit to clear the nose. Do it like Bentley says. Just keep an eye on things and make sure your motor mounts aren't broken. You'll do fine!
