cool, i live in leicester but bought mine from northampton.

it wouldn't really effect you because your bug is tax exempt, but one of the reasons why i'm annoyed is because my bug is 4 months out from being tax exempt, & i'm going to have to pay £160 a year for road tax because i have a 1600cc engine, i think this is unfair because modern cars that have larger engines do not get taxed this much (from what i've seen the average is £100), if i had a smaller engine it would probably be around £80 a year

also, my insurance premiums are going to hit the roof because i'm only 17 & my car has a 1600cc engine. (a lot of money to fork out when you're a student earning £120 a month Crying or Very sad )

Isn't taxes the reason for the British invasion? The musicians were making tons of money and getting raped on taxes so they became Americans so they could keep more of their money.

Living in New Zeland ROCKS!!!, only thing is you pay a premium for any old VW, not a chance of finding a $400 bus or the like, I just picked up a '72 Hardtop ( seen as Ragtops are almost non existent over here) for $2500 NZD which is about average, Yeah i know its a super my aim oneday is to own splitty or a oval ...., did you guys know ther are only like 6 split window beetles here - crazy huh, Im seriously thinking of getting a Us Bus from TS anyone got a RHD ???

Yeah Cali laws suck, I lived there for 23 years and then moved to AZ, I'll never live in CA again.
