try some silicone rubber (black) in a syringe (hobby stores can supply the syringe) get teh glue under the rubber. if the leak is low on the windshield, you may still need to seal all the way around, event eh top, cuase the water could be getting int eh top, and out the bottom.
You may need to seal both rubber to body,a nd rubber to glass. the syringe should allow you to get the silicone rubber in. |

I just hope you have no rust outs!
Sometimes if the seal is old, a new one will fix it.

Good luck. _________________ "Use the SEARCH, Luke" But first visit the Vanagon FAQ!

Time to replace the rubber. After 20 plus years, they dry rot out. Injecting silicone may work for awhile, but it will spring another leak elsewhere soon enough.
Buy the new rubber seal, and then have one of those "traveling repair" glass places do it in your driveway, or work parking lot.
In the long run, you'll save, as water leaking will cause rust, and rust requires glass removal anyway to repair that damage. |
