I'm trying to find out any info I can about a speedometer with the fuel gauge located in it (above miles recorded). If anyone knows of a previous post or has seen one for sale I would appreciate any assistance. A Samba member has a '59 listed for sale that has this particular speedometer installed and he states it's out of a '65 (?). Is this a rare option or maybe an overseas version?
Thanks Guys!

That's a later speedometer in there. If used, optional electric speedometers on 67/earlier cars were put in place of the stock gauge in the grill to the right of the speedo.

If you use a 1968, it still looks like an earlier style speedo as far as the graphics go. After years of frustration with inaccuracy of the stock mechanical setup, I switched my baja to such a speedometer a couple of years ago:

on the back of the speedo is stamped a date code= month and year. like 8/67-onwards.

Yeah, and it's not too unusual to find a rebuild stamp (with its own date code) on there somewhere too....
