Drew is an ex-Florida boy who is on sabatical there now, ask any of his crew (Rafferty) he's the man with the crippled hand, it always has a beer can in it, sort of like Bob Dole's always had the pen.

Yes I did, but it was too sexy of a machine for me. I didnt have the time for that big of a rebuild. However, I'd love a pressed bumper 23 window bus any day! A friend of mine has one and I curse him for it!? Dancing  Brick wall

Thankyou for fielding that! That is correct. I felt he'd be able to do a better job rebuilding such a vehicle with his experience than I would. I'm really more of a Bug person anyways (I do have one 65 bus though,a shitty 54 bug and that damned bastard type 3 ghia). Exclamation

and as rare and valuable as those hurst bumpers may be, i still think it would look alot better with a US spec bumper, but thats just me..

Those are not real hurst bumpers. Don't get me wrong, I would take a front one. But I dont understand why someone would go to all that trouble to reproduce something and do a few things wrong. Anyways, what are US spec bumpers for 58?? I thought they are correct???????????????????????????

I would love to have real Hursts but i have not seen a set for sale for quite some time, so for now i am fine with the fakes. as far as i am aware the pressed bumpers are correct for a '58 but i may be wrong i sure wouldn't be the first time. Cool

i can't even think about US specs on it. gives me the heebie jeebies

yes, pressed (ribbed) bumpers are correct for a '58. I don't know what month the cutover to the later style bumpers was.
