This might be a stupid question but was there ever a bug made just for Hitler?

I think it was somewhere in the Links in TheSamba that I read that the very first production VW convertible was driven for a while by Hitler and then turned over to some members of his staff before being squirreled away and later discovered by a dealer who notified VW in the 50's of its existence, after which it ended up in the VW museum.

If that's the official VW museum, then that's where it would be.

Adolf Hitler had a driver pretty much from the time when he could afford it (or the party) until he died. He favored open top Mercedes sedans with superchargers. He did ride in a few of the KDF wagens but, to my knowledge, never drove one himself. He liked to be in cars that could drive very fast, of which the VW was not included.

thayer, your rite..Hitler never did learn to drive, That benz he had or Bez`s he had were bought with propaganda money go figure , He was also given a few KDF cars one of them being a tiny replica by the factory workers I think it sold for some big $ at an auction Bosch has it along with another just like it.
If you remember that black and white picture of him looking at a little vw in a wooden crate thats the one. There were only 3 of them made .

Off a website: http://www.infopacks.com/ infopacks/sample.cfm: "Opened in 1995, the Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen in Wolfsburg has been visited by thousands of Beetle enthusiasts. It contains a wrought iron Beetle, and HitlerÆs 1938 convertible. It was black. Hitler was unable to drive."
