Honestly, i would put it up for sale in the samba classifieds for 90 bucks. And then buy what you really want. Why waste money on shit you dont want, even if it's not your money?

Here we go again. Rolling Eyes
There is nothing wrong with Whitney as long as you stick with "name brand" products and don't pick the cheapest things you can get in a particular catagory.
The same holds true with any mass merchandiser.

Might I suggest "Winky the Cat"?

My aunt ordered from JC Whitney and gave me one of these for Christmas in 1981.

I was horrified. Shocked

The Winky the Cat is awesome! Got quite a few chuckles out of me.

Since you've got the giftcard and a VW, why not use it on your car? I am of the same mindset that about 70% of what JC Whitney sells is pure crap, but I have found at least one item there that I've never seen for sale anywhere else, and they are high quality and very functional.

Stainless Steel Door Edge Guards

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-Brow...46/c-10110

If you need interior stuff, they also carry TMI products (just like JBugs, So Cal., etc.)

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Browse/tf-Browse/s-10101/N-111+10110+4294965829/c-10110

As well as Bugpack parts, which I've found to be pretty good quality

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Browse/tf-Browse/s-10101/N-111+10110+4294966661/c-10110

I guess what I'm saying is that if you need to buy appearance parts or accessories, I'm sure you'll find the quality is very similar to everything else that's out there with the exception of places like WW and OEVEEDUB. I think you'll also find that $100 worth of parts adds up very quickly, and if you don't like what you've got JC Whitney has good customer service and an easy refund policy.

You should be horrified. There's no way you could have deserved a gift that freaking awesome!
I hope you gave her a really big hug.

LMAO!
I had never heard of winky the cat until now.
Yeah, certain gifts make you wonder what people were thinking. You can't toss the gift out and you can't recycle it.

After thinking about the gift certificate some more, I think I'd buy however many Winky cats one could buy with $100 and hook them all in parallel and put them all in my rear window.
This way I can blink Winky's possessed eyes when they follow too closely.
That'll learn them..

I told my aunt that "I installed Winky in my back window, but the first week I had Winky running, the cops pulled me over because he wasn't legal. Winky had to go, Aunt Pat."

Dodged that bullet.
