..Funny thing that you should bring this up. I was actually looking online for one last night and couldn't find one either. I bought one from WW about 5 or 6 years ago. However, they are no longer listed.
Anyone else? |

I spoke to Shawn at Vintage Parts on Friday.. he said.. He had to get rid of them...he was threatend with a lawsuit... I mean.. its Advertising for Bosch on these old cars.... I don't understand why they wouldnt allow this. Stoddard used to carry them also.... but no more.... listed as an NLA part number... _________________ DB

This is definitely something you, or Gary.. or John or someone should be making under the table... and ONLY having these available as word of mouth..... The Bosch Coil Sticker Underground Railroad....

Thats too bad to hear. I mentioned not too long ago in the split forum that the logo police beyond VW are still actively out there. But its tough to fly under the radar when you are one of the players in the business with websites and catalogs etc. We only ran a very short run of the deep etched aluminum horn ID plates since I really wanted a few for my own use, and when the few left are gone they are gone for good, so they weren't really made to make money on (I won't even make back 1/2 the investment), but when I want something I just make it.
The same logo issue also stopped me from making several versions of distributor tags, and theres a big demand for several types of tags since its nearly impossible to find great disty badges. I can spit out artwork here myself quick but just not interested in any future hassles even though I'm really a cottage business. Ricardo made a nice run of 383 badges, but not sure if either him or Frisco would consider/risk making the coil stickers either.
But, I belong to some early BSA and Triumph motorcycle forums since this is another hobby of mine, and what a few guys also using Adobe Illustrator have done is create the artwork and swap it around with each other by email so folks can print out there own decals, stickers, and tags that are no longer available nor license-able. Today you can print stuff in color that is literally silkscreen quality. I doubt Everett would post vectorized (scalable) print ready artwork on his site, so somehow folks would still need to be "in the know" as to where/who to get it from. Will say up front though I won't be creating this artwork so someone else will have to be creative, could be done easily in 10 minutes if someone knows what they are doing. Good luck!

I just placed an order online with BFY the other day, and one of the things I bought was a 6V coil sticker. At least, one of the things I thought I was buying. Either BFY hasn't updated their online catalog or they've managed to escape notice.
I hadn't heard of this sticker crisis or I would've just assumed the catalog to be outdated (imagine that!) and not bothered ordering it. |
