One of my fav pix. This is a wooden mockup of the car.
Look at the vents and lack of gaps in the lid.
(pix copied from above.)

Is it just me, or does anyone else cringe at the thought of an entire split body, including doors, lids, bumpers, glass, lights, etc, being supported by 8 wide hooks on the 4 fenders?
Wouldn't that leave a mark??

Those hooks are flat steel and have thick leather covers sewn over the parts that contact the fender. It still looks a little dicey to me.
This looks worse to me.
It looks like it would mar the paint and bend the tops of the doors.
The worst sight is beetles being unloaded off of the ship. A cable on each bumper bracket. I couldn't find a picture but it is kind of scary. _________________ Chris
