there were to many bad spots to show it would of been a lot of pics, but most was in the front, so in the end I decided the best thing to do would be to change the front clip from the dash back
the new front clip and my little helper
almost finished with this post few more pin holes
had to remake the front apron with a aftermarket piece and weld the four finger section in it

| Nice car. The rust looks relatively minor but WTF is with the front clip and rear bumper mount "repairs"? The floors didn't happen to be painted with gold Krylon when you bought did they? |

lol, thats cold, you just threw russell under the bus and rolled over him a few times I guess the rust wasn't so bad It was the front clip that made me sick, and being as I didn't have barely any welding or body work experience when I started this project, I was a little overwhelmed |

| yeah I was pretty pissed, but in the end it was my lack of experience to blame, I saw the fiberglass patch on the inside figured it had been clipped but never expected that |

Well, good work man. Glad you stuck with it. I felt the same way about my deerslayer project when I got started. As soon as bodies were coming off of pans, i was like WHOA! what the fuck is going on?!?
But it's got to get uglier before it gets better. Glad to see you blasted it and are doing it right!
btw, am I really seeing pop rivits, welded flatstock, AND brazing? and you say they also fiberglassed? damn, was there any duct tape involved? _________________ RIP HBB

Great work. That front clip was a glued together piece of shit. Looks like you fixed it right this time. Dont apologize for the amount of pics....more is better.

That old clip was horrible!!!
Of course it was fixable I guess, but I believe the route you took worked out great! And solved all your problems at once, like you said!
This is going to be a nice ride, thats for sure.... What are your plans on color? _________________ • Metal Fab & Quality Suspensions, Type I-II-III. Since 2004 • |
