Recently I was thinking of how I could get a little bit of extra cash quickly and gambling came to mind. There are no casinos around here though so I was wondering how to do it online, and if it's safe. I'm pretty good at black jack, so I'd probably stick to that if I did something like this. Anyone ever tried it? Pros and cons? _________________ oo9less since 2007

Gambling to make quick money is the act of a desperate man.

Placing bets already?
I wouldn't play with money I didn't have anyways. That's how ya get in trouble. If I were to lose, I'd take the loss and move on... probably wouldn't try again though, but at least I would have tried. _________________ oo9less since 2007

You should try Russian Roulette, that's where you have one bullet and 5:1 odds.
And if you feel really lucky you can try Polish Roulette, that's where you have 5 bullets.
Seriously... gambling for income is a losing bet. _________________ Glenn

Unless you're a professional gambler. They can make decent money. But this guy is not one, he's what professional gamblers call "the mark".
I can play poker and win with my buddies on a friday night watching football. It's usually toothpicks or pennies. I can usually break even on the blackjack table in vegas. I do it for entertainment, not for income. There is a reason vegas casino's are rich and those playing the one armed bandits aren't. _________________ CU05 w/HBB

Well, I've never gambled before, that's why I'm in here asking... just getting info. Maybe not the best place to ask for advice on such a thing though, then again, maybe all the responses have been negative for a reason. _________________ oo9less since 2007

LOL. Just rob someone.
Seriously, never gamble online. All those 'online casinos' are just scams. _________________ www.DenverWildlifeControl.com |

| You'll always win one the online casinos that don't involve real money. They trick you into thinking that you're the best gambler in the world. Then, once you put in the real money,.......it all changes!! |

A fellow I knew from my old job used to come in bragging about how he'd made $500 in a weekend of online poker playing every now and then...but then once you started asking him, he had lost a couple grand over the weeks before that...he even admitted he couldn't keep track of it...
but those small wins keep the losses fully funded...

The house I just moved into is owned by a good friend of mine, he's a real professional poker player. He plays in tournaments and online tournaments and wins and loses, but he mostly wins. That's his job, he knows the cards, knows how to read people, and knows how to play.
If you want to be "professional", practice FIRST. Start with playing your friends, then maybe find a low buy-in poker tournament and try that out.
READ about poker. blackjack is a house game... Play against other people.
EDIT* My brother is the kind of guy who can gamble when he needs money. He'll take $50 and turn it into 500-1000 easily in a poker game. I don't know how he does it, he just does and doesn't lose money either. Me on the other will lose again and again and again... _________________

I used to play online when it was not so illegal or a pain in the ass to transfer money from your checking account to your online account. I would play in the $5 buy-in games until I got a little better. When I decided to quit I had about $500 in my account. There are a ton of free tourneys you can play in, or you can even play with fake chips until you get better.
I played Hold 'Em and got a lot of practice in before I decided to transfer money. I never lost more than i could afford to lose when I did decide to finally play. I did win $200 in one tourney only once. I finally cashed out and it helped pay for some green fees and my fairway woods. Not a bad racket if you know when to hold them and know when to fold them. _________________ (16:05:01) twinwindows: She prolly got a bigger dick then you

If I need extra cash for something (usually parts for my VW's), I just pick up an extra shift or two at work. Gambling will make you worse than you were to begin with. I can work 1 extra shift for $400 in after tax money. I'm working 2 this month so I can get all of the nickle and dime stuff I have been putting off on my car to get it ready for spring!!!!
I agree, a second job or if available, pick up some OT!!!!! _________________ Enemies are friends in reverse..... G. Busey
