| My two favorite unobtainable buses so far are the submerged one in the Bahamas (don't count me out on renting a barge lol), and the completely riddled bus earlier on this thread with the old dude standing next to it. Can someone pull that submerged bus out of the archives somewhere? I can't seem to find it. Baddest-ass, crab-infested roach out there! I KNOW it could be rolled! Who REALLY knows where it is? I read a thread on on the Rescue site where they speculated it's location. And, where the hell is that completely obliterated cheese grater the old dude is standing next to? Now that thing is real practical, and hell, it makes the Bullet Bus look like Ward Cleaver's tray. |

Thanks Thom!
Now where the hell is that thing anyway? People been talking about pulling that thing out for years... but will it ever be? THE BOMB! |

| My friend Benny told me about an old local guy he met while in Figi. He said he had a old "vw truck" that they pushed off the end of the dock when it died. He claimed that it was a doublecab... |

At this point, it's one of the ultimate LEGENDS of heinous buses, perhaps THE HOLY GRAIL of the rancid.
The only problem with bringing the overtly dead back to life, is that some -if not a lot- of the purely disgusting character is compromised in making them run again. The Bullet Bus makes a good example of this, but what can you do besides leaving them on trailers and hauling them around? To wash the Bahama Horror would desecrate it, remove the barnicles? NO!
Years ago before it was sent to Europe, the green Canadian "Mercury Outboards" barndoor was awesome because instead of painting over the amazing patina, they clear coated it! It was one of the coolest forerunners to what seems to be a growing illness/craze: the pursuit and reserection of horror rides. I guess the earliest one I remember was that horror 23 (also mentioned earlier in this thread) that hobbled the roads of the Bay Area in the late 90s... that thing was classic.
Ok, I'm rambling.
Is there An Official "Horror Bus Thread" yet? |

Hmmm, logistic problem: I'm broke! I searched Philippines Fortune Island Bantagus Wreck ect, but no luck pulling up pictures of it. Interesting nonetheless. Still tripping off the "Barnacle Bus", it fills my head with dreams of grandjure while asleep late at night. I know a short search amongst dive people and it's location would become known.
I know answering an add for a bus, driving over to someone's house, paying the cash and driving a good running bus home appeals to some, but I'm just NOT some. In fact, while I've done that, and am about to do it again, it's so lame. No adventure, no novelty, no challenge. The best for me are the treasure hunts that yield said treasure/garbage. Maybe I'm just a born bottom-feeding garbage scow. Hey, I just like the added challenge, what can I say. |

I can take that '67 kombi off your hands if you really feel that bad about it.
I don't think it will sponser your trip to the Philippines though. |

Mike, that DC is way too nice. That thing could be driving in a day or two... sweet piece of metal... wish I found that one.
We missed you this year. |

Hey kombisutra, didn't you repair one of the brake lines on the bullet bus with JB weld? How did that hold up? Is it still on there? _________________ '66 SO-42

Doubt it, Taylor made it this year. Maybe the phrase will need to be changed from "nelsoning" to "bigbusmiking". |
