What Type??????

I have seen this question asked numerous times, but I don't think I have ever seen a clear answer. I know a TYPE 111 is a Standard Beetle. And I know that TYPE 151 is a Karmen Vert. What's a TYPE 113? Or a TYPE 117? Is there a directory or listing somewhere on the net describing all VW Types??

In my 1971 owners manual it says a model 113 is a Super Beetle sedan.

Yela... I have to disagree.. I just got a "birth certificate" from Stiftung Auto Museum for my 1962 Ragtop, and it says it is a TYPE 113. What gives here? There should be a directory out there somewhere that would describe all types... Maybe Everett can get the ball rolling.

I know that Vintagebus.com had this thing that if you put in the codes on your bus plates(inside the car) It would tell you make model, etc...My '59 bug says it's a 111, along with my fathers '68, both are deluxe sedans. I know that there were standards, and sunroof models. Perhaps Those are the numbers going up, etc...Good luck.
