Cat spiders are wonderful around here, they keep the mosquito and no-see-um flies to a minimum....the more cat spiders the better.

| is the bg/swr 23 in Iowa a pressed bumper bus without any doubt? |
I've been to see the swr 23 in Iowa but I'm not sure whether it was a pressed bumper bus for sure or not. I don't recall it having any bumpers and at the time I didn't really know what to look for -- I just knew it was a pretty rare bus that was fairly messed up.
It might take a few months but, if I get a chance to go back out there I will come back with a copy of the m-code plate. _________________ SST X, XI, XII

you wont find an m-code plate. look for the VIN in the engine bay. You may also be able to tell by the bolt pattern on the front frame rails. _________________ drive your split. |

this is my 1/56 deluxe back when i found it in micanopy florida just south of gainesville florida...
the bus is still undone due to some other models getting in the way but i have made small amounts of progress on it.
it came from colorado and was driving when it was parked in florida.supposidly was used by a newspaper company for some kind of reason and was lived in by the po to me.he parked it next to a wood deck and lived in it and did lots of drugs and women.it had a wood burning stove that you can see the smoke stack hole still.
i have had love/hate relationship with this bus since 94...

Crazy as it is, i really dig that color combo. may as well run it that way. better than 98% of them being swr/cb. _________________ Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

I find it a little odd that this got so much discussion last fall and no one asked me.
Recently been spending more time on the bay list trying to ressurect a bay dormobile.
After looking at the charts again I now realize my samba is a SEPT 58 built.
Yes, it has pressed bumpers. I sorta thought there were pics in the gallery. If not I'll add them. Definitely original paint on the bumpers.
VIN is 384,595
Last August 58 is 379,407.
Last September 58 is 388,976.
Mine is titled as a 58 by Iowa, but WTF does that mean. (I have a 60 Corvette titled as a 61. ) Apparently there was no such thing as a MCO back then.
BTW, anyone nosy enough to look under my bus will be truly perplexed.
It had a bottom clip from a June 63 bus. 1141488. Horrible to purists, perhaps, but the work was done in 1985 and it's no longer breaking in half. Plus it gets the bigger 63 brakes.
Oh, this thing has an AMAG tag, too. A little strange aluminum thing.
Al
