I am so annoyed! 85 Westy for $1000

This Westy (as previously mentioned) has been for sale on the local Craigslists for months. I've seen the description change a couple of times. One of the older ads said that it doesn't shift...

When I was researching Westys, I used to print Craigslist ads for price comparisons. I bet I still have a printout of one of his first ads. I'd expect to see it come up again on Craigslist. It seems as though his inflexibility on price is one of the reasons that he hasn't sold it. Either that or the issues with the van have caused potential buyers to walk.

I was successful in finding my Westy by posting a WTB post on my local watercooled VW forum. Within a few days I had solid leads on a bunch of Vanagons - most of which were just parked without plates. The people on that particular site were more interested in watercooled dubs, and had no problem hooking me up with local leads.

I ended up picking up a 85 Westy in similar condition for $650 - which was also located in Fall River. I've already spent another $500 bucks on parts (exhaust stuff, fuel line kit, tune up items, wheels, etc). Just keep that in mind when you're setting your budget - you'd be hard pressed to find a Westy around here for that price that runs with no probs.
