Late vanagon adjustable armrest rebuild

I screwed the knob out of one of my armrests to replace the plastic cover piece and am unable to reinstall the knob and threaded rod properly. I am guessing I will have to open the box that it is threaded into to get this figured out. Any one out there done this before?

I will post up some pics tomorrow.

not at all. The hardest part is to make sure the armrest is horizontal with the part your arm rest facing up while you put the cover back on or else the pieces will dislodge again
