|
|
The radio antenna on my '74 Super Beetle is nonexistant, and I'd like to put one on. The problem is, I can't seem to find one. I tried the antenna from my old '73 standard and it wouldn't fit. None of the parts websites seem to sell one for my car, and the classifieds are also a bust. Is there some kind of aftermarket antenna that will fit where the stock one used to be? Or is there an antenna from another year or something? I'm really at a loss. Thanks!
EDIT: I'm missing the whole assembly. The base, the antenna, the wire, etc. |

That one screws on from the outside. Basically all the cars has an oval hole in the left top of the cowl from 1968 on and all beetle 68+ antennas should fit fine. It's a little trickier to get a Super beetle antenna in because you have the longer cowl in the way.
The screw on one will work make sure it has a gasket and the three screws. You'll need to drill three holes but be sure to use some zinc primer on the holes or you'll get rust. _________________ Midwest Autosavers, Inc. Crystal Lake, IL |

| I'm confused as to why the antenna from my '73 wouldn't work... I distinctly remember it not fitting. Perhaps I just didn't try hard enough. In any case, thank you for the information. |

If the one from the '73 mounts in the same location, it's should work.
