interesting 90-degree angle from the sink. Where did you get it? _________________ 87 Westy, 250k GW 2.4 - 2.0 , 16" wheels |

All Vanagons should do this:
Add direct starter-to-chassis cable THEN delete ground strap at front transaxle mount.
The best time to do this mod was in 2010. The second best time is TODAY.
If your starter is slow, this is MORE important. |

I am not so great at details after I do it I lose interest and go on to the next thing I was just cleaning the cabinet out and thought that hose it a pain and started driving to the plumbing store found a sink drain kit 2inch cut out but in the end you can use the stock 90 the new one is just a little shorter the plan was to find a really low profile drain to be able to use the rest of the drawer http://www.pyacht.com/scandvik-drains.htm
but even this is not low enough so I glued a 3/4 barb reducer to the 90 in the kit drilled a hole near the bottom and put a 90 at the hole to lower the line with a thru hull thingy I made and I cut a channel on the bottom of the floor to go lower but you can not see it. Wow my write ups suck sorry. |

I found this quick release pop rivets to hold the hatch cover on and I have had no problems it takes about 45 seconds to accesses it.
The westy has the panel without the holes so you will need to find one from a 7 passenger.

Can you give us a source for those quick-release rivets? Do they fit nicely into the existing holes?
Cheers,

does the upper part of the sink drain unscrew from the metal sink? I tried briefly and its stuck on pretty good. I wanted to ask the forum before herkin' on it and breaking something...(like i usually do.) thanks _________________ '84 2.3L Wolfsburg Westy - "Brown Sugar"

You can stick something like a pair of needle nose pliers into the X in the drain. This allows you to twist the top and the bottom. It can be stiff. _________________ Geology with a Syncro rocks!
