Hi Laurens,
Maybe I will bring it to the Kever winter festijn. I will ask the organisation if there is a place available to display this car. And if there is place, I will also ask the owner of the Dutch Beeskow to join me, so we can make a Rometsch display

Congratulations Patrick!! Great to see that a great car found a great owner - good luck!
This is a tough car to restore, I have been through a similar excercise myself...and I am not done yet. But - of course you can do it, and of course it is worth it!
The good thing about Rometsch-restoration is that every piece of steel in the structure is a simple cut, press brake folded sheet metal piece that can be made by hand today, as well as back then...
The bad thing about Rometsch resto is the fine mix of steel, aluminium, wood, rivets, spotwelds and gas welds..... and the fact that the alu skin is made up of some very large panels that are not so easily adjustable..
But - you deserve it, and this car deserves you - so go for it!
Here is a corss-section picture of my "heater channels" as we cut them out and folded new ones to weld in. Complex, yet simple... I wonder of this beeskow part is exactly the same on a Lawrence? I guess you will be able to tell us soon.

Yes, Now I am a Rometsch owner myself. When can I start the lawrence section on your rometsch regsitry website?
regarding the restoration, dont forget I start with this. So I don't need to restore the frame anymore. I do need to restore the metal for the doors and hoods. The person who made this also has a spare set of lawrence heater channels. I didn't buy those.

Car was pick-up today with a big trailer. The wheel-base is a little small for such a big truck. There were some problem with getting the car on the trailer.
It will now starts his trip to the netherlands. I hope it will arrive before the 9th of Januari. If the car will be here on time it will be shown at the keverwinterfestijn.

| Great purchase. I didn't realize when you said thanks for the contact info that you bought it! Looks like the same guy still had it. I think back in 2003 I first talked with the prior owner and he didn't know what it was. I'm sure it will recieve the proper restore. Enjoy! |

Hi Eric,
I will,
The boat will arrive on the first of January in Rotterdam. If everything goes well, I will pick-up the car on Friday the 8th and will drive straith to the Keverwinterfestijn in Rosmalen were it will be on show for the weekend.
For the not Dutch people. The http://www.keverwinterfestijn.nl/ is a very big Dutch indoor VW meeting.

The car arrived in the Netherlands this week and I will collect it this friday.
I will drive straith form Rotterdam to Rosmalen were the car will be on show for the weekend. So all who go to the show can see the car
Unfortunately the Dutch Beeskow will not join me in the display, so only one Rometsch to show
Will post new pictures of the car this friday evening.

Yesterday, I pick-up the car at the harbour in Rotterdam. The car looked just like the pictures, although some things were a little bid disappointing. (like the steering wheel is to far gone to repain  Overal I am still very happy with the car.
My camera desided to quit working yesterday and today and I couldn't focus anymore, so I made very few pictures. I hope to find more and better pictures in the internet in het next couple of days.
This is the only pictures that looks nice of the Rometsch display setup.
The bodynumber is 561!!
